NFC tags are contactless IC chip-based tags that use the NFC (Near Field Communication) communication technology standard. NFC is currently used in many mobile information terminals, including smartphones.
NFC tags in Startrail PORT
In order to prevent a discrepancy between the circulation of an actual work itself, such as a painting or sculpture, and the information recorded in the Startrail Registry Record (SRR), Startrail PORT provides an NFC tag linked to the SRR that can be attached to an actual work.
The owner of the work can view the information recorded in the SRR by simply holding up an NFC-enabled smartphone. We provide two types of NFC tags, stickers or cards, to be attached accordingly to the shape and material of the work.
